Laissez les bons temps rouler, bienvenue!
I have never gone to Mardi Gras, but I have ratted out a sister who went! Same thing, right?
When I think about New Orleans I actually think about an amazing hot dog I had the morning after a big night on the town. Christopher had been to the Absinthe House and had midnight gumbo. So we were feeling amazing the next morning. Thank god for street vendors selling cold beers and hot dogs. I also think about Anne Rice, music, amazing food, and people. God, I miss going places.
I think everyone has their own wild New Orleans story which is what makes the city so special. If y’all ever get the urge to have someone whip some beads at you, this could be the place!
Again, I am stealing from web sites but this is what Le Bon Ton has to say for itself. “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” is a common exclamation heard around New Orleans. For over 250 years revelers have shouted the mantra and toasted to its principles. As you travel outside the city, you will notice that the phrase is shortened and simplified by the locals. The rules of the French language are discarded and the accents changed. Away from the neon lights of Bourbon street, “Le bon tomps rula” is a much more common phrase. It or one of its Cajun/Creole variations is a common toast heard in the local roadside bars, oyster houses, crab shacks and BBQ joints of the Louisiana countryside. The ultimate simplification, which rolls perfectly off the tongue and still embodies the spirit of the original, is only 3 words long – Le Bon Ton.
Here you can enjoy a Creole Bloody Mary It’s a mix of vodka, smoked tomatoes, grilled capsicum, citrus, pickle juice, red wine, jalapeƱo hot sauce, and Old Bay seasoning. They also have southern cuisine for when you need some good old fashioned comfort food.
AND because Le Bon Ton’s website is awesome, we got y’all a gift card to go enjoy dinner and drinks! Joyeaux Noel!! Love Pop, Heidi, Sam and Kellie, and Courtney and Chris
